What I’m Reading Wednesdays: The Unbearable Lightness of Being

Hello blog! These past few months, the entirety of my time has been devoted to frantically trying to remember as much as I could about Literature in preparation for my comprehensive exams. So, basically any free time I had was spent binge watching my favourite tv shows in an attempt to calm myself, the f-, down. Excuses, excuses… I know! But I’m back now with a new book to read, so here it is.

The Unbearable Lightness of Being by Milan Kundera

The Unbearable Lightness of Being by Milan Kundera

I picked up my copy last Sunday at Fully Booked – Century City Mall for P299.00 (or about $9.02 AUD). I’ve missed these book prices, back in Sydney the exact same copy would probably be priced at at least $20 AUD. But anyway, I’m about a fourth of the way in now and I’m loving it so far. To me, Kundera’s novel feels like a well fleshed out lesson in philosophy and I mean that in best possible way. In fact, I’m currently on the hunt for a copy of Nietzsche’s The Gay Science or The Will to Power so I can read all about his concept of eternal return. (Third year university student, working on her liberal arts degree who hasn’t read Nietzsche?! Shock, horror!)

Well, that’s about it for now. I’m organizing my room at the moment and trying to soak up my month’s break before heading back to uni for a new term lol. But, I’m always interested to know what books other people are reading so if you’d like to, leave a comment down below or look me up on Goodreads. Catch you later! xx
